Northwood followed up their disappointing display against Bracknell Town with a five-star performance as they comfortably overcame league leaders North Greenford United, who went into the game with a 100% record.

There were eight changes to the Woods' line-up, with several first team squad members included in the starting line-up.

The Woods made their intentions clear from the start, and when a quick free-kick from Jack Bennett in the first minute was only half cleared to Carl Hunt, he made no mistake.

The home side continued to keep the pressure on, but could not find the opening to increase their lead. They did continue to dominate the half with some fine passing moves.

North Greenford would have been hoping for a bright start to the second half, but it was Northwood who dominated once more. After 48 minutes a long throw found Otis Williams, who had his first shot blocked but followed up to score with the rebound.

The floodgates now opened, and when Otis Williams was brought down on 58 minutes, Jack Bennett smashed a 25 yard free-kick in off the post.

Danny Brown added the fourth in the 78th minute after a defence-splitting pass from Danny Power, who also scored the fifth from the penalty spot with five minutes remaining when he was brought down following a powerful run into the area.

The night – and the 6-0 scoreline –was complete when Carl Hunt got his second a minute later after good work from the inspirational Jack Bennett.
